They seem immune to all our herbicidal battering. What is the difference between cautious evaluation and negatively discarding options? R—– has got some kind of idea in her head that I am a negative person. Is that true?
I need to watch that, although my feeling is that she’s wrong. I’m more concerned about falling carelessly into acting on the basis of incomplete information: my old enemy go-with-the-first-idea. Still, sometimes it’s better to OK the ideas that don’t seem so good, but hope that they wither and disappear over time, to be supplanted by better ones. That’s a bit disingenuous, and that’s why I don’t like doing it. But in the end it might be better than spreading around an atmosphere of negativity.
