Purpose: To reveal the inner life of the superficially banal. A catalogue of glimpses. Quotidianality.
Flavours:
- Aphoristic
- Allusive
- Atmospheric
Features:
circadia is:
- Terse: circadia is for daily posting. It’s not a marathon, it’s an egg-timer.
- Autonomous: circadia is not in the blogrolling business. What happens in circadia stays in circadia.
- Non-ephemeral: A corollary of the preceding feature: circadia does not track the events of the day, diagnose, or prognosticate. Not of the moment, but in the moment.
- Cryptic: circadia reserves the right to befog, befuddle, and be frankly obscure, oblique, obtuse. It’s less about things than near them.
- Hermetic: What does that word mean?
- Personal: circadia is about me and my world, but not a springboard for self-promotion.
- Structured: Each post has a title. Each post has a leading phrase or motto, which might or might not allude to the content of the post. Each post has a body. Each post has a slug (part of the URL). Each post has some categories. They all add up to something, sometimes, but otherwise merely provide reflective surfaces to bounce each other off.
- Rhythmic: circadia observes the rhythms of the years, seasons, weeks, and days.
- Mine.
